quick nutrition tips

Since David and I have joined a gym, we have tried to eat a little healthier so I have been watching some things and trying them to see if they are good. I don't like healthy food if I don't want to eat it... soo...
We tried the Dannon light and fit yogurt. It only has 80 calories. We loved yoplait and we were spoiled with it but it has 150 calories, so we tried the Dannon, it is really good, smooth, sweet. We love it.
also, turkey has only 30 calories per slice and ham has 80.
also the baked chips, like baked lays or baked cheetos are really tasty and similar in nutrition to a baked cracker.
ju befte a mire....(albanian)
may it do you well!!!

Heavenly Father answers prayers

Yesterday I gave Eliza a few almonds to snack on. she has liked them in the past so I didn't think twice about it. She came up to me a few minutes later and said, "nose hurt". I looked and she had stuck a almond up her nose. I could see it but it was pretty far up there. I tried to get it out with some tweezers... no luck. I called up my doctor friend and went over to her house. She had some fancy forcepts in her doctor bag and yet we still couldn't get it out. I waited for David to come home and help me hold her down and get the almond out. We still couldn't do it. I didn't' want to go to the Dr. just to get this out of her nose but I had to.

I went to a quick care place and the Dr. tried to get it out. Eliza was in hysterics the whole time. People had been holding her down all day and she has been kicking and screaming. poor girl. We had two of us holding her down while the Dr. tried to get the almond. The Dr. still couldn't get it so she suggesting flushing it with saline. So we stuck a little syringe up Eliza's nose and she was crying and crying. It felt like she was drowning because of all of the water. It was so hard for me to hold her. We tried that 3 times and the almond still wouldn't come out. We worked on it for nearly an hour. My poor little Eliza was bloody and crying. The Dr. said that the other possibility was to take her to ENT and have them sedate her and then be able to grab it.

I didn't want to take her to the ENT.

I went home and later that night I asked David to give her a blessing. For information, the almond was not blocking her breathing at all so it wasn't dangerous, but still we needed to get it out. David said no, but that we will just pray for it that night. I was annoyed. He then asked me "don't you have enough faith in your prayers?" and I said no. there have been too many times that I have asked for something and I don't get an answer so I didn't have faith in my ability to ask. that really bothered me that I didn't have faith like a child and just ask.

We put her down to sleep and she went to sleep quick. I went into the back room and prayed. It was a special moment for me but I came out crying because I really was wavering in faith.

We sat and watched tv for about 20 minutes and then Eliza started to cry a little so I went to check on her and she was sitting up and the almond was in the bed. It had come out.

Now I have to say that this was truly an answer to my prayer, so immediate that I just started crying. I am so minute in my faith that I need to be better. I need to go to the Lord more often. I need to trust in Him and trust in myself.

I couldn't get it out, my Dr. friend couldn't get it out, David couldn't get it out, the Dr. couldn't get it out, but Heavenly Father did. It still touches my heart that he heard me and answered my unbelief.

finishing touches

we have put some finishing touches on our house. While mom and dad where here they helped us start to put the railings and stairs on our deck. We weren't able to finish it before they left but we have finished it since.

About me

I got a job. About 2 weeks ago I applied for a part time job at the same company that David works at and the same company that I used to work at.
The hours are Wed, Thurs, and Fri 4-8 PM. It is only 12 hours a week. It was perfect for us. I wouldn't have to leave the kids. Sadly I will not be working with urine or fecal. i will not even be working in the lab area with radioactive material. I will be helping with packaging. Getting all of the data to the clients.
Anyway with this new development, David and I bought a really nice bike. We only have one car and we didn't know how we could do this if we were to shuffle the kids around every time one of had to go to work, so we bought a bike. work is only 1.5 miles away.
Our plan is that David will take the bike in the morning and then I will pick him up with the kids in the van at 4:00 and I would stay and work. I then would ride the bike home at 8:00 so David can put the kids to bed without having to pack them up to get me.
Also, David and I have joined a gym. we got rid of cable and decreased our Internet service and so we put that money toward our health and we joined a gym. we love it so far. It has day care, classes, racquetball courts, and a heated indoor pool. We played racquetball on Saturday and swam with the kids. It is great.

Every morning

Eliza loves her brother and every morning she wants Fenton to come into her crib and share the blanket. It is just so great to see a little family growing with brothers and sisters.

David's babysitting

Just a pic of david babysitting.... he is getting up at 4:30 in the morning so he is so tired. He is really good with the kids but I thought this was funny.

Chapel Hill, NC

Last weekend we went to Chapel Hill North Carolina to visit some of our friends the Bagleys. It is actually David's friend from Othello and they have kept in contact over the years. they came down and visited us for a weekend and we had a such a great time touring Charleston, so we went up to Chapel hill. There was a basketball game that weekend and we really wanted to go but there were no tickets available. David was pretty bummed about that, considering the basketball dome literally was is the Bagleys back yard.
It rained all weekend so we visited two different McDonald's and let the kids play. One of the McDonald's was redone and it was awesome. Generally I am not a big McDonald's advocate but this one was great. it had stone walls, with a lounge area with 2 flat panel TV's, a fireplace, a little waterfall. It was awesome.
Besides McDonald's, we went to a natural history museum and it was really great. We just had fun hanging out with our friends.
Incidentally, our heat in our van didn't work and with the rain it was pretty cold. we bundled up the kids for the ride home and about 30 minutes outside Charleston is started to get pretty toasty...... ironically,,,, yesterday our heat started to work... where was that last weekend?????
