Traverse City, MI

We visited some of our friends that were up in Traverse City, MI.  It has a tone of lakes around namely Lake Michigan.  It was semi-hilly and a beauitul woods.  It was a great little get away.  The funnest part was the sand dunes.  It was a huge 500 foot super steep hill of sand into a beauitful lake.  It was such a unique place.  We played on the dunes for about an hour then headed over to play in the lake.  It was a lovely day, not too hot and it was very relaxing at the lake.  There was a little river that was the perfect depth for Carter to play around in.

Eliza

Eliza and I went shopping together to get some shoes and get some smelly stuff for our house and we had such a great time.  When we came home she had this set up on her desk before she went to sleep.  She is such a cutie.

Eliza picked some flowers and put them in my hair.

the 500 foot steep hill of sand.

my boys

Carter loves blueberries.  he will take handfulls of them and eat a whole carton.  When he sees them in the fridge he freaks out and wants them all of the time.  He also loves strawberries as seen below.

They had a beautiful view of the lake and hills up north in Michigan

Greenfield Village

Henry Ford has created a little Early 1900's century town.  He has old Model-T's, a steam train, a working farm, Thomas Edison's workshop, a carousel, and much more.  It is a cute little town and so much to see and do.  We went there with our friends and only saw a very small portion of it and it was great.

The old tall bikes.

Kids walking on stilts

Kids playing old school games and loving it.

They got to make a little pendent.  Very cute idea.  They got to ride on the 100 year old carousel and eat some frozen custard.

4th of July

We had a great 4th of July.  We went to the pool, I did a little Salvation Army shopping, we BBQed and then had a small fire work show.  We had some friends over and the kids had a great time.
We bought about $10 worth of fireworks so nothing huge, nothing over 2 feet tall but all of the kids ooed and awed over everything.  The way they were screaming you would have thought it was some huge show.  It was perfect for our little family.

So when I was younger I traveled a lot of the 4th of July.  I have seen some amazing fireworks at some amazing places.  Just to name a few, Disneyland, St. Louis, Washington DC, Charleston, Portland, Twin Falls, Provo, Grenada (not so many fireworks there) Boise, and now Detroit.  I love this country.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!!!

Carter has the dancing bug

When Carter hears music he throws down what ever he is doing and jams out.  We love it!

high dive and 2 wheeler

Eliza is going off the high dive and doing amazing.
Fenton has been riding a 2 wheeler for about a month.  He does great riding but the bike is a little tall for him so it is hard for him to start and to stop and put his foot down, but he will get it.  Not to mention that the bike is a princess bike.  Someday he will get a boy bike.
David is 6 weeks into surgery rotation and doing great.
Weird things about Michigan:
You can't put your garbage in a trash can out on the curb, it has to go in bags.
The yard garbage, like grass, leaves, weeds and such have to go in a special large brown bag.
They have crazy black squirrels here.
We have rabbits running through our back yard.
The ghetto is ghetto and nice areas are very nice.  There is no in between area.
