Ogden Temple

The Ogden temple had an open house this month and last minute I decided to take my kids through.  We showed up Monday morning for standby tickets and there were thousands of people there.  The line for people that have tickets was super long and those without tickets was even longer.  We waited and waited.  I was not prepared for the wait with water or snacks.  The kids were so great and didn't whine.  I kept asking them if we wanted to bail because the wait would be nearly 2 hours.  Eliza kept saying no, she wanted to see the temple.  SO we waited it out, and we were so blessed because there was a group of college kids had more tickets then people so they asked us to come with them with tickets and that saved us an hour wait.  We enjoyed the temple and it was beautiful, but the kids thought there was a lot of halls, which there are.  I am glad they had this experience and know what a temple looks like on the inside.
I bore my testimony that this is where we can be sealed for eternity with our family.  Heaven won't be heaven if we don't have our family with us.  What a special day with my special little ones.

First day of school

Eliza had her first day of 2nd grade and Fenton first day of kindergarten.  They were very excited to go.  Eliza couldn't go to sleep fast enough for the first day to come.  Fenton has school Tues and Thurs and every other Monday.  This makes it not very consistant but I am hoping that since it is all day that it will still do him well.
Love they little people.

Fenton's birthday

Fenton turned 6.  we had a little party for him.  His friends, cousins, and grandparents came up.  He got some great toys and fun clothes.  We played pass the parcel, piƱata, and cornhole.  I think they had a great time.
Fenton is turned into such a great little boy and is going to do great in Kindergarten.  He is so sweet to his brother and tries to be nice to Eliza.  He is quite the athlete and loves soccer and baseball, basketball, tennis, and skiing.  I love this little guy.

Carter

Carter is hilarious.  Yesterday I found him asleep and he was wearing a Luigi costume, but that is not all.  Underneath was a superman costume.  He is hilarious.
Today he bonked his head and asked me to kiss it then said "its bleeding"  I said "no its not" and he said "it is on the inside".  What do I say to that.  Such a cute kid.!!

New York City

David's graduation was in NYC and we were blessed to go have him walk.  My brother was very sweet and set us up with some tickets for the weekend.  We have a cousin that we stayed with so it was a quick, very full weekend.
We left the airport off of a redeye at 7 AM and went straight to the Freedom tower and the memorials of the Twin Towers.  We then found a great hole in the wall breakfast place.  All of the construction workers were eating there so we knew it was good, and it was!  We then walked down town near Walstreet toward Brooklyn bridge.  We then went to the MET, took a nap, back downtown to try to go to a show (that didn't work) and hit a movie, but not before finding a Cake Boss bakery.  We loved it.  We walked Times square then home.
The next day was his graduation and I had got us reservations to a nice breakfast place and it was sooo good.  Then off to graduation.  It was so awesome for him to be apart of that ceremony.  He had finally finished it and it was a great finish to his schooling.  It was held at the Lincoln center.  After we went to the temple across the street.  We came back to central park and rented some tandem bikes and rode around.  It was awesome, so fun!!!  We went the Cloisters and then to a movie at times square, then left the next day for home.  It was so fun for it to be just us running around NYC.  Congratulations David and thanks for all of the adventures.  You are awesome Dr. David Milo Hirschi!

We bought a house

We went house shopping one weekend and we loved this house.  It is nothing fancy but to us it was awesome.  It has 4 bedroom, office, living space, 3 bathrooms.  We got a master bathroom and a fireplace.  The backyard has 7 fruit trees and it is on a very quiet street up on a hill with a view and a block from trails up in the mountains.  It was perfect for us and we love it.  We are so grateful that we could have the beautiful house.  We feel truly blessed.

Fenton graduates, we moved to Pocatello

I put Fenton in Kindergarten for 6 weeks and they had a little graduation.  His teacher was Aunt Deanna.  I will Fenton back into kindergarten in Pocatello because he didn't do a full year and he will probably graduate again but I thought he was so dang cute.

 yep spiderman anywhere and everywhere.
We accumulated more stuff just in the 7 weeks in Twin Falls.  This is how we moved to Pocatello.  Packed the little truck Melinda is so graciously letting us borrow and our van to the brim, but we made it.  Pocatello here we come.

The green machine

My parents came up for a weekend and we had a great garage sale.  I was so proud of my mom to purge so much stuff.  It is a great start.  We put our loving green machine (boat) for sale and we sold it.  It was a sad day but it was time for it to retire.  We had used it and got great memories in it.  We went to the river so much in my life.  It was second nature for me to ski and to boat.  I love the feeling of skiing on glass water down in the canyon.  We used to play golf, volleyball, Frisbee, BBQ, and ski all summer long.  That is what my summer memories are of.  A retired Navy man bought the boat and said he would take care of it and go fishing with it. Isn't that what you are supposed to do when you retire, fish?  so the green machine can now retire.

Idaho May 2014

We went to a scout arama and the kids had a great time trying out the rope bridge, shooting practice, turtle races, making a fire, and crafts.  It was a fun free Saturday out.

My nephew made it to state in tennis so we went to watch him.  The kids watched for a minute then played most of the time.  They hunted butterflies, blew dandylions and made tracks for pinecones.  It was a fun weekend with family.

At grandmas house, the boys are just playing in dirt, like boys are supposed to do.
